Hi guys. I just started playing chess seriously after this covid lockdown started (which is just a few months ago) . My rating went up from 1100 to 1600 with a glicko rd of 30. I have never been to chess club nor join any chess tournaments. (Except for school tournament which most players doesn't knew about the rule of en passant). So I am planning to join a chess club after this pandemic ends and enter real tournaments. So I want to know how good is my rating. Currently i have a rapid rate of 1633 with a glicko rd of 30. Please share abt your oppions and discussions

I have a similar situation to you from the beginning of lockdown, my ranking from 800 went to 1800, and recently I joined the club. This is a good idea for me because you will have the chance to start in normal live tournaments. You have a good ranking, certainly as you try and exercise regularly, it will grow as much as in my case. You can join the club regardless of the ranking.

1633 is in the 95th percentile, which means that only one person in 20 is higher rated.
