Chess rating going down.

Actually, almost the whole decline took place starting in late September and running through October and you've been pretty stable since then.
What happened then?

michael adams is doing the same thing at the moment. he just isn't playing as many good moves, thats usually the cause. no need to thank me, it doesn't really take much thought.

In the summer, I had gained a lot of games so then in Sep/Oct, those games started to finish. I lost 80/100 games around then. Now my daily games are rising again! 100 to 136 in 2 weeks. I need to stop joining. More daily games, more to lose.

Bro just think as much as you can it is daily...
I have like 2 million games to worry about.

Okay.

Yeah.

Michael Adams is the strongest player who was born on same day as me.

Hi NintendoMaster853, I answered a forum a while ago - where someone asked about breaking a losing streak. This was my response as it may be a variation of what you are experiencing.
I tend to suffer from these streaks sometimes too. Sometimes it is mental, sometimes it is just in the pattern of improving, sometimes it is just confidence. However, there is one exception... One time I lost about 200 rating points in only several days (although some losses were to internet connection). It only upset me when people told me to take a break, or quit - as I did not know why it dropped in the first place with a fear that it may happen in the future if I did not know the cause (root of the problem). I only discovered the reason far later. At the time, my tactics rating was about 200 below my actual rating; I began to practice tactics more. Subconsciously, I began to constantly look for tactics for every move in the games. Essentially, my rating fell to my tactics rating. I did not notice the cause until in retrospect, so I suggest focusing on your strengths more than weaknesses. The book Strenghts Finder 2.0 by Tom Rath (from Gallup) reflects this concept. I hope that no serious chess player ever crashes 200 rating points, perhaps this will save some people the experience that I suffered.
Hope this helps, good luck breaking this slump NintendoMaster853
I'm posting again even though I said I wouldn't till 2018. Here is my daily going down from October to now.
