Chess Set Identification

Hi guys,

Not sure if this is the right place to post about this - but I bought a chess set off some Italian man today, he said he got it from Thailand. Truth is, I really don't know much about the set and its design (nor did he). Can anybody here familiar with sets give their two cents based on the below photos?

Would be really interested to know your opinion on

• piece / board design - what's the style, where does it come from?
• what it might be made of - all I can tell is what the helpful Italian man told me, which is 'stone'. Closeups may give a clue
• how much I could potentially sell this on for (really running out of space in my house!)
