Chess vs boxing

I find alot of people being anoyed by some of Carlsens repliques. That said, compare Carlsen with any boxer. A lot of confidense combined with arrogance, but in the end, after the match the story is somewhat different. "He did well" or "I did poor". Same as in boxing. Just saying.

Boxing is far more dynamic since it isn't turn based and exploiting tactical opportunities relies on your speed.  Not to mention actual the actual strength required to make said exploitation meaningful.

As for chess Carlsen knows he's the best of all time, why should we hold it against him if he himself knows it?  It's like people getting mad at Kasparov for admitting that he's better than Fischer.

At least in chess you don't leave the game with a black eye. Well, usually.

it is similar to boxing. we use combinations in both the cases. the only difference being that in chess we play with mental muscles & in boxing we play with body muscles

Sir.. Kasparov hails from Russia, where Chess is pampered and the State had a system of supporting Chess players. On the contrary, Bobby Fischer rose from a country where Chess was almost non existent. Chess players who are making millions ,should thank Fischer for it.Chess is so popular now, through out the world only because of him. Fischer is the greatest!

How could you even compare these 2 sports? You need completely different skills to play either sport. One is a tactical mental match played with one's Brain and fingers and the other is a combat sport requiring superb athleticism and footwork. Let us not forget about the intelligence needed to understand your opponent and his movements in the ring.

If I had to choose one It would be Boxing any day.

Boxing teaches fundamental values of grit and determination.

Chess doesn't quite live up to the hype that is Boxing.

I like to think in Blitz there is the equivalent of feints. Like in the opening I use for black I try to get the opponent to threaten a pawn  and attempt to take control of the center.  Then I make it look like I'm trying to support the pawn but I'm actually trying to open up a diagonal for a bishop sacrifice which will lead to two files being open in front of the opponents king. Sometimes people sniff it out sometimes they don't.

I think there can be lots of moments like that in blitz where neither person knows exactly what the other person is trying to do and you either have to take action or try to feel it out.

My one question is how did Tom find this forum.

Winning chess needs correct one to seven moves .  Boxing need jabs in order to outbox the opponent. Chess is difficult than boxing.
