OK thanks.

Now I understand it. You said that you would like to observe a game with this rule implemented. Here is one:

Success! Your rule works.

Can you tell us a new rule soon?

happy.png

Thank you

You made me laugh

happy.pnghappy.pnghappy.png

I will now play over your game

Just like I do with the chess grandmasters

Well done, you are probably the first to try it ever happy.png

I will comment about your game later, I am looking at it now.

14. e5

e5 is now a blocking pawn, it controls f6,
so black can not play the pawn jump f7-f5 later on after the Knight moves

27. ... g6

creates a weakness on f6, makes it difficult for black to ever play f7-f6
black is still not allowed to play the pawn jump f7-f5

31. ... b6

bad move allowing white to trade his bad bishop and break up the pawns

40. ... a4

Now this black pawn on a4 is a blocking pawn, it blocks the white pawn on b2
The white pawn on b2 can now only move one step b2-b3, it is not allowed b2-b4

53. b3 happy.png

Yes...

84. Rf6

nice happy.png

Stopped soon after this, 250 moves??

You were playing against a computer and were using a computer to assist you,
no problem we discussed that, and it is probably the best way to test something new

Rule # 8

You just used rule # 7

Now I will tell you Rule # 8

There are no under promotions in my game

A player can only promote to a QUEEN

He is not allowed to promote to any other piece

I saw in your game that black promoted to a Rook, this is not allowed in my game.

There are reasons why this rule is in my game, I will not explain why, it relates to other rules that I have not disclosed

Lol, it sounds like you just changed all the moves that were harder to code wink.png...so let's see, I guess castling is also removed in your game?   Umm, what else...stalemate gone?  King can move into check and get captured?  Pawns can't capture at all and can only form walls?

Hi @bum_tickler

That was rules #7 and #8

Perhaps you should reserve judgement until you see the important changes.

Meaning Rules #1 to #6

You talk about the attitude of the "chess establishment" and monopolies. Seems like you're the one with a monopolistic attitude.

You should never expect money or prestige when designing a chess variant (or any game variant). That's just how it goes.

Who invented bughouse chess? Hoard chess? Nobody knows, nobody cares. The way it should be. Because they're just ideas still up for revision.

The platform and software that the game is launched under is what creates value. Not some idea.

You sound like you'd be trying to sue people if they set up a tournament using your rules with standard physical chess pieces. That's a horrible attitude and I hope you don't get the copyright. The idea is worth nothing. Value is generated by organizing events and methods of playing - you know, real work.

Not gonna address anything I wrote? Yeah, I thought so. You're unable to. You can't even justify it to yourself.

Interesting

I just setup that position, the example in post #1 and ran stockfish, thinking time one minute, just to see what happens.

When I made that example it was just to show the rule, and it also needed a pin

I never tested it or anything, I just did it now: Menu | Learn | Analysis

Black to move

Best three lines

1. ... Kd6

2. ... c6 happy.png

3. ... h6 happy.png

In all lines only c6 or h6 are played, never c5 or h5

This is pretty much what I have been seeing in the grandmaster games, they often move the pawn just one step forward.

Of course h5 would be bad due to bishops on light squares, and c5 would be even worse as white would get a passed pawn on d5, but still I found it interesting happy.png

As if people actually cared to see all your rules...all they're doing is pointing out that you are full of BS, and that if you care about your game you need to stop with the paranoid narcissist stuff.

P.S. A block from you is a badge of honor wink.png...you block everyone that has bested you.  Only way to maintain your delusions, I guess.

You watched a lot of reality TV growing up, I'm guessing.  Stick with Flavor Flav or that guy from Poison...I'm sure it's more entertaining.

Yes you can, if you created the topic.

It also blocks them from sending you messages, match making for games, etc

Basically they no longer exist.

Just hover over their name and select block

It feels good, like swatting an annoying fly.

Why did you write a novel on intellectual property law? I don't understand what this has to do with chess. Chess is over 1,000 years old. It's not patented and can never be patented. It can't even be covered under basic copyright law. You could make "Tazmanian Devil Chess" and have it be no different than chess, sell it, and no one would be able to sue you or claim you're infringing on any rights (other than Warner Bros. for infringing on their rights to the Tasmanian Devil character). On top of that, any chess variant is just a rip-off of chess. Why should you be able to own the rights to it? If you take the Facebook logo and just change the color, you would get so sued. You're not creating anything.

No, I will not publish.

This is just a teaser, a minor rule change.

That is why I selected it, I am not going to just go ahead and publish the important stuff.

You remind me of Will Arnett's cameo on The Office (US): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Sjk3f4qC1I

You're trying to sell to us on how ingenius your idea is, and yet you refuse to disclose it. And that just points to you not having a good idea at all.

I will go there one day

To sit by Bobby's grave.

[Edit]

I clicked on the above youtube video link.

It came up with a copyright warning notice.

This video has been blocked due to copyright blah blah in your country.

Made me laugh.
