Chess with no increment is unplayable

You have a rook, bishop and 2 pawns vs king and rook and lose because it takes more than 30 seconds to convert. It's fake chess, and any time control without increment should be banned (even in casual play).

What is it with this compulsive desire to force other people to do or not to do what you like or dislike? (Recurring theme on these forums). Why ban time controls without increment? You do not have to play them. Let other people decide for themselves.

Except it's the most popular time control on the site. Now I will have to resort to 15 | 10, which is much, much longer and less popular which means I won't get games in my rating.

There are plenty of faster time controls with increment: 2|1, 3|2, 5|5. If you play 10|0, 5|5 is not very different.

I personally prefer 15|10 to 10|0.

Edit: Ok, I do not know how difficult it is to find games with increment in high rating brackets.

That's right. Anyone who flags like that (except I suppose bullet/blitz games, which are just meant to be flag fests) should be banned from chess permanently. Not just from chess.com, but from ever touching a chess piece, or even talking about chess to anyone other than themself in their own head.
