Hello checkmates,

How does one play chess960? I take it that the moves are similar to that of turn-base games.

Many thanks,

chess_guy72.

Moves are the same except for castling only the pieces are in different positions. The opening is the key to 960; analyze where your lines of attack are and your weak points. Then just do what you would normally do: control center, develop your pieces etc. By the middle game it is pretty similar to regular chess, just with some strange positions sometimes. Tactics and board vision are crucial.

its hard to explain since the rooks are in a different position everytime. Basically its like regular; king two spaces and rook flops to other side.

Many thanks. It is a matter of playing that version in order to get used to the way it is played.I may  give it a try sometime.

Many thanks for your help.

Give it a shot; its challenging, but I think it will help me with board viision and recognition down the road. Attached is one I played last night; LOVE this little game! Funny, there was a forum topic yesterday about the c4 opening and so I knew to respond e5...worked out!
