The OOoooold "I'm NOT me" trick. I haven't seen that one in a long time
Chess.com has made a serious blunder!
I think the problem here is that chess.com folks like that 11M and counting member list. It's pretty easy to get an account and since chess.com is constantly warning you that they might discipline you for some trasgression or other, nobody wants to invest much in an acount. That means people do this throw away nonsense all the time.
Like you, I don't see a point in cheating and yet I have been accused of it forever. I had an earlier account closed playing online chess so I don't do that anymore (I suspect that it was because I played in pne of those theme tournaments with an eBook with tons of computer analysis) but I hate being accused of cheating. I've been silenced several times for saying what I thought was fairly uncontroversial things. They'll probably nuke this account now too so they can up their number of members....
Pity because if they would stip disciplining me for doing nothing wrong, I'd give them real money.

" They'll probably nuke this account now" I LOVE THE SMELL OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS IN THE MOURNING

On my mark!

You can emasculate these people by caring less.
So you wouldn't mind being muted by Chess.com because even they were being fooled by the complaints?

Sorry to all my friends and players, I want to come clean and admit that I do use a engine. I went to Google and payed very good money for a very sophisticated program. Sorry guys, I know, I'm a lousy cheat. I'm the real GargantuanGoober.
At least that's a GargaantuanConfession...
Or would that be a GargaantuanLie...
Whatever...

So I see the guy has now decided to create another account which has an extra "a" in it.
Yes, the possibilities are very large, but the good news is that the number of permutations are finite.

Obviously, I'm 'GargantuanGoober' - Complete with the capital 'G' in the middle of my name. So, Chess.com decided to MUTE me for someone else posing as me. I repeatedly tried emailing them to see what's up...to no avail.
Over the last few days, several members were 'harrassed' by my so-called pseudo-alias 'Gargantuangooober'. Notice the misspelling and bad capitalization. This person is NOT me, but rather a string of deleted accounts that does nothing but harass people and whine about cheaters.
PLEASE VERIFY THESE ACCOUNTS BY DATE ACCOUNT WAS MADE!!! ALL THESE MIMICS ARE JUST DAYS OLD!!!
Here is a list of banned accounts this person -has- been but just keeps coming back:
Storms_Faast
Team_Astana
Dawda_Bah5
Zug_2
Try_Checkers_LOL
Team_Radio_Shack
Iamindian12
Lawrence_of_Arabia
Mike_Train
Ne_Vadi
Owned_And_Spanked
Paranoid-AndrOidd
Beneku53
Optimus_BlaaKkKk
Super_tropper1
Sergei_Vacheslav
If you notice, Zug2 is NOT Zug_2, but in other threads, "Zug_2" claims they are one. So I'm not the only one this nutjob mimic is tormenting.
Here's another example from Starpawn's page:
Starpawn
Hi James, apparently gargantuangoober created 2 accounts. Chess.com has taken away his ability to send messages or chat or even create blogs. I saw your comment on gargantuangoober and I agree, the guy is a cheat. The account below was closed. I'm surprised hes still allowed to be on this server. Also watch out for zug2.

Before anyone just dismisses this type behavior, this could be YOU that someone wants to cry and complain is cheating. I've -NEVER- cheated. I blunder in every f'g game...
It was so frustrating that Chess.com did not respond in ANY form when this crap was happening. I emailed them at least 5x. They've always responded within 24 hours in the past on any issues.
A great example of consistant 'blundering' on my games is people like R_a_v_i_2000 (if I spelled it right). He wins well over 50% of our games. He's not an engine. So obviously neither am I.
The point of this isn't about cheating, it's about someone shadowing a player that can't reliably beat any 2000+ player. This clown keeps doing it to other players, as well. When they post in forums as you but slightly misspelled, and NOBODY notices, nor Chess.com responds...but MUTES me anyway, what the hell? How can any player protect themselves from this fanaticism?!
Wait a minute! Starpawn's note was for me? This knucklehead deleted all of his notes, so I couldn't even see it! Plus, how come I only see people do things like that to you? Maybe Starpawn was right. You ARE a dirty cheater!
Unless they are using vpns or proxys(proxys as a good joke for my PC friends) chess.com should get their ip when they sign up. Site banning them shouldnt be that hard

Time cheating?!? I've been accused of that. My opponents don't understand that 15/10 means 15 minutes with 10 second intervals per move and they keep asking me how I end up with over 15 mins. on my clock. Obviously, I make my moves rather quickly and maybe too quickly at times.

Sounds like on of Goober's opponents was a sore loser--
""Scared as you are weak and play only for time? Resign when exchange down instead of wasting moves with the king, you scared little girl loser time lagger cheat."
I've been exchange down, my opponent's been exchange down. Exchange down is not a reason for resigning a game. One does not have to resign if one does not have to. They should get their anger out before they post the comment because once it's posted nothing can be done about it.
And a thank you to Chess.com for closing the fake account...
