Most women I have to tolerate are really a waste of space, time, and money. Dead weight.

This is more a reflection of you than the people you are seeking to vilify.

Like this makes sense.  Half of you people are doubtful of everyone else's gender & the other half don't care.

locoghoulisback

people should stop being so sensitive. Calling girls names is no different than some people insulting others when losing. No need to call out for a witch hunt whether his/her insult was racist/sexist/homophobic/etc. It's just an insult and probably out of anger. That's all. It's the internet after all

marcosite

Agreed.  zazen5 has an issue.  Undecided

zazen5 is just saying what we're all thinking.

marcosite

erm....probably not. Least not 'all' of us anyway.

I agree with the OP, women should be praised and empowered, there is a thread trying to accomplish the feat.

Come and be part of chess.com history

I don't like these feminist thoughts or things like international women's day, because there is no men's day or men's power movements, and it seems unfair.

Actually the neo-feminist movement is a man's idea purporting to be a women's one. Furthermore, the original feminist's movement and it's concomitant ideologies and beliefs are diametrically opposed to what we associate and define today as feminism.

Men don't need a day.  They have the other 364 of the year.  Women have a lot of influence in the free countries of the world every day if they know how to use it.  In the not-free countries of the world, men fear the influence of women and so force them, or convince them, that they need to wear burkas and veils so that they do not tempt the males around them.  Modesty, however, is a good   thing to practice in any country, a fact which is often ignored in the fashion world of the U.S of A.  What we need is a good infusion of common sense and mutual respect between races and sexes.

fashion is a derivative of society, meaning fashion is highly influenced by it(society), thus if one hates fashion then unconsciously they have an aversion to society as a generality.

Tangentially, batgirl, do you agree with post 390.

I've never studied feminism and i'm pretty ignorant about the different camps. But in the US, as a movement, it seems to me to have its origins in the women's suffrage movement and the antidefranchisement activities of the likes of Elizabeth Stanton Cady and Susan B. Anthony.  I don't think women want more, they just don't want to settle for less.
