@Kaynight: I know. But this one is beyond my understanding abilities.

I love your enthusiasm, but mocking ratings is not a good attitude IMO.

As Heisman (and others) say, worry about learning and the rating will take care of itself in the long run. If you worry about the number then a loss or bad tournament can kill your motivation when in reality you may have learned and improved, something to celebrate.

I respect a high rating because of the work they've put in. Most of us fall short of greatness in terms of our rating, but not for lack of loving the game. If you want to mock someone, mock their laziness, as that's their choice.

I'm posting here between blitz games on ICC while I warm up for the night. You'll see me trickle off of this irrelevant topic soon enough and then you can go back to telling each other how wonderful you are.

Wow! You play online! Wow! 1800! Wow!

Get a real rating in the real world and come back, then make it one that is big enough so that you don't have to shrink the pond in order to make it appear "big."

What do you think the difference is between you and some guy that's 1200 otb? Are either of you doing something that makes a bean of a difference in the real world, or are you both just pursuing your hobby with some enthusiasm?

first I would like to say forgive me for my spelling I am not a good speller.  To the person that made the original post I would just like to say that the word pussy is not a word that means woman nor does it mean vagina. Pussy is a lazy way of saying pussy cat which is another name for cat. The word pussy is only seen as meaning woman or vagina because of the negitive conotation that has been attached to it just like the word gay. Gay did not mean homosexual originally, in fact it meant happy but since people that were homosexual acted very flamboyent and seemed to be happy they got called gay. so when some body  calls you a pussy they are not being sexist because they are not discriminating you based off your gender in fact they are calling you a wimp or weak or not agressive.

Personally I feel that you and the person that called you a pussy are in the wrong. They were wrong for calling you a pussy and you were wrong by calling them and the entire cite sexist, and that forum you were looking for guess what it's called the disable chat button. and lets be realistic here if the person wanted to be sexist towards you they would have called you something far worse I will give you a hint as to what it is it ryhmes with bunt and I hate the word personally. and yes this entire argument that I have made is a symantics argument but it is a valid argument.

maybe if you are called a pussy, bitch, hoe, whore, and many other names maybe instead of screaming sexism and looking for a forum for sexism you should brush it off and learn to live with the fact that people call each other names and the reason we do is a very simple one..... it is because we are all f**king stupid and before any body can call me a sexist let me say that I hate everybody equally no matter the color, gender, or sexual oriantation so I am a humanist. so as you put it "Chess is a great game to waste on just men" I agree to a extent. I agree that chess is a great game and if chess were only played by men it would be wasted but it isn't only played by men, many women play chess and I for one being a male hope to see more men and women playing chess the world would be a better smarter place if everyone know how to play chess in a competitive manner.

and I don't know if you saying "let's allow for a little more fun"was you saying that haveing a forum for sexism would make the cite more fun because it wouldn't it would make it so that if you don't like somebody you could report them for being a sexist. and look at it this way what if by you saying that you weren't able to post anything about it in the public forum because you have a lack of a penis what if I take offence to that comment and I feel as though it was a sexist comment guess what I would get to report you for being sexist don't be a victim and if somebody says something offencesive like you're a pussy just agree with them or show them it doesn't bother you because they are calling you a name to get a reaction out of you and by not reacting you are winning because you arn't giving them the satisfaction of you being in discomfort mentally so this is my $0.02

Daniel, even English speakers will ignore that. You must use paragraphs.

DJB139

I am sorry once I get on a role I forget about grammer and length of paragraphs

leiph18

Also periods at the end of sentences.

Also, sum up your main points at the end using 5 or less sentences. Then delete everything you typed above it and just post the 5 sentences instead Laughing

I don't know if that's an actual writing tip, but sometimes I feel like it would help some people.

Good. Now continue wasting your time kissing her ass over the internet.

Like spending time with you is anything anyone here is valuing? Anyone?

It's chess.com. This isn't a social experience. It's a chess forum.

I'm not hear to listen to the ramblings of a middle aged housewife. I'm here to talk about and play chess. Why anyone would be here for another reason is kind of beyond me.

I think most things are probably beyond you.

Really, man? You have a 1300 correspondence rating and I already ended it. It's over. You showed up too late. Now go kibitz with your forum pals.

Ok Ms.  Sorry!

ps. You forgot my 64..............it's 1364. :)
