Amongst the millions of chess.com members, I figured there must be some that live in London, and that some of those must live eastwards, around Shoreditch/Hoxton kind of area. And of those, there must be some that would fancy playing a real life chess game once in a while.
In Shoreditch, just off Old Street, is a little place called Ziferblat. It's a weird place where you pay for the time you spend in there (5p per minute), instead of what you do while you're in there. Once you're there, you can help yourself to tea, coffee, biscuits, etc.
The best part is - they have several chess sets, including one table with a clock. And if the clock doesn't work, well, I have an app.
