I currently do not know how to add a game to my collection in the review. Did they remove this?
Chesscom's new Game review, what the heck happened?

you dont need to go to game review to add it to collections once the game is finished you can add it there you can also go straight to your collection and add a game from there too

You should still get the review speech, regardless.
Used to be right there at the last book move. Tried looking at the first 8 moves, none had anything scrollable.
What game is that?

It suddenly showed up today. So I hope that is a bug that was fixed (and no scrolling was needed).

for those of us beta-testing it right now, will there be any formal feedback mechanism? where can i vote that i hate it?
who's beta-testing? I just had it dumped on me without anyone asking, and I'm paying a subscription... if I did something similar to my customers, they'd go elsewhere
my guess is that someone senior in the dev team (with a serious ego) has an idea and simply decided that this is how it's going to look and feel, without asking the users or listening to feedback
to the mods/developers: people form a mental model of how a system works and you change that at your peril. you have made some useful functions unrecognisable and hidden information that people found useful, and have been using without issues for some time, and you just dumped it on me, a paying customer, without asking
this is appalling behaviour. I'm considering asking for a refund and moving to Lichess, which seems less arrogant in its development process
JUST ROLL IT BACK. we liked it before, and we don't like it now

Click the Analysis icon and the option to add to a collection will be on that screen.

The feature was released to the beta for a few weeks and now is out to a subset of members to get additional use and feedback. It's not the devs that decide when to roll out changes but the product team.
Staff are actively looking at feedback. There have already been some changes based on that and some coming. There are some things that very likely will not change.

Guys can you have a video or full screenshots of the new update? there's nearly a census about how bad it's. I'm not one of the unlucky selected beta testers😜

based on the responses I've had, I'm creating an account on lichess and cancelling this one. I'm not paying to be someone's beta tester without being asked and then be spoken to like that. the latest changes are unnecessary and detrimental to the user experience

I agree 100% with all your points, and it was eloquently written, too!
The review is so awful now I'm considering not renewing my diamond membership and moving over to lichess.

I just tried to ask about getting a refund and only got a stupid AI bot answering, until I was told that a human would answer in 1-3 days (!). I'm a paying customer!
my advice to chess.com: spend more on customer support and less on unnecessary UI changes. it smacks of a company that's turning to ... 'ordure', and having worked in web dev for 20 years, I've seen how it happens. budgets get allocated based on internal politics and 'sexy' functions but the basics - value for money and customer experience - gets forgotten, the latest changes being a case in point. I wasn't asked about beta testing the latest changes, and the responses have been less than satisfying
and now I have to wait ages to actually get some support about my account! wtaf is going on?

I'll just cancel my membership now so it doesn't auto renew. After reading some reviews about how they're handling this whole situation I've decided it's not worth the headache.
Edit: Paid for an annual diamond membership that auto renews. If I cancel before the renewal date, even though I paid for the whole year, they remove the benefits lol.

completely agree, i find the tone of Martin's responses in this thread unacceptable - and if there's no formal feedback mechanism offered for those who've had this (Toys R Us quality) update with oversized text bubbles and font and decreased ability to toggle back and forth between review and analysis dumped on them, then here's my formal feedback mechanism - completely roll back my game review / analysis by July 1 or I'm ending my annual diamond membership and moving to lichess
a member of the product team should be in this thread actively responding to these complaints

a member of the product team should be in this thread actively responding to these complaints. As an example of responsive customer service, consider the online casino industry like oly-lv.com. Top platforms not only offer engaging gameplay but also maintain robust support systems where user feedback is promptly addressed. This level of responsiveness is something I expect from a premium service like this one.
I completely agree. The limited ability to switch between verification and analysis is very inconvenient.
How about letting us choose if we want the change or not ? Because it's clearly terrible as is.
The site won't keep multiple code versions for a feature active long term. I've been using it for the past few weeks and other than the extra click to get past the summary, Im not seeing issues with the update.
That's the problem. I haven't seen one good review yet, have you?
at the very least - if some crappy product developer insists on pushing through his pet project - he/she should:
1) reduce the goofy child-or-elderly-oriented font size, and the white bubble size, closer to the font size that existed before for the summary of best / good / book / etc moves - no one needs this font size to see, just leads to more scrolling and less info on any one screen
2) allow toggling from review to analysis with tabs, just as easily as one can toggle from analysis to review with tabs - reaching for this dumb new analysis button up in the top right is the definition of extra mouse movement for the same function, that developers should be trying to avoid

I'll just cancel my membership now so it doesn't auto renew. After reading some reviews about how they're handling this whole situation I've decided it's not worth the headache.

That's not accurate. If you cancel renewal you keep your features until the expiration of the paid for premium. Unless you're currently in the trial and haven't been charged yet, then it immediately ends

There are feedback forums and you can use the Help option to directly contact staff either with a ticket or submit bug/feedback/suggestion reports.
Staff are tracking a number of these feedback topics and have responded in some of them as well.
I'm not sure what you're seeing about my tone.
I'm stating that
- Feedback is being read and tracked by staff
- Some changes have been and will be made based on feedback
- That the site won't maintain two versions of code for the long term
Those are things that are happening and with all site changes historically, that has been true. Very occasionally a change will be reverted, for a short time, but usually will come back after further development.
