I have and I think it's an incredible program most becouse of the tutorials that is has, both the ones by Waitzkin and the other ones. Don't like the way of plating of the personalities becouse they play all good moves and at some point hung some piece or pawn so it isn't realistic like playing.
Chessmaster series

Yeah, playing chessmaster is pretty boring and uneventful, they play to computerish. However, the Academy section is full of great bits, the annotated mastergames are just wonderfull, the learning section is great fun and helpful aswell.
So all in all, use it as a learning tool and play your chess here instead.
Equipped with a newly-found vigor towards learning chess, I went and bought Chessmaster - Grandmaster Edition. I might double-dip and buy Chessmaster Live ( for the Xbox 360 ) as well, but it seems that GE is the way to go if one wants to learn the basics of strategic playing. The tutorial section in the game seems deep enough, and there are - I think - over a hundred AI-opponents to beat ( with varying ELO-scores ). I did this before I found out Chess.com, though. :D
I was just wondering... With such a robust community dedicated to playing chess, some of you must be familiar with the Chessmaster -series, right? And as such, share some of your experiences with the serie. Good, bad, ugly?
I really like the layout in the Chessmaster - Grandmaster Edition, but I am not a good or experienced chess-player by any means. I am interested in hearing your thoughts, though, so fire away. :)
P.S. If this is in the wrong forum, I apologize.
