I love chess.com because I've played chess against people from around the world. The very idea of you and I battling it out over the chess board via the net is simply a pleasure and luxury.

Oops didn't mean to send this wasn't done... And I posted in the wrong forum , I was going for Off Topic... To continue, I love that I've played all kinds and types of people but I would really like to play with Believers. I don't go to church so it'd be nice to play and chat or not chat and just play. Chess.com is amazing Great community Lovely Game

If you go to the 'share' tab and select 'groups and teams', you can enter keywords that represent your interest. The one I've linked seems to be the largest and most active Christian club on this website.

Darth_Algar

There's like a multitude of Christian groups here on chess.com. You should have no problem finding like-minded players.

I'll bite. Why is devotion to Jesus relevant to chess?

It's not relevant at all. But if you're going to be chatting with your opponent during the game it's nice to play some of them against other Christians.

I don't understand?

I hope that unnecessary and uncalled-for comment about Christians made you feel better.

Rather sad that some people are saying the guy should burn in hell. I don't approve of killing lions, but some of the reaction seems a little over the top. You get the impression some of these people wouldn't be quite so outraged if he'd killed a human instead.

It did actually.

I have no problem with most christians, after all I am one myself. But I usually find that those who feel the need to make a noise about it in a chess forum are the least christian-like people in the world.

You are brilliant. You have just confirmed my point entirely.

For what it's worth humans aren't endangered. Lions are, or very near to it.  Less than 20,000 remain in Africa. And now, because of this one guy's egotistical need to kill just for the sake of killing (probably the only way he knows to feel manly), that number is going to be a few less ("Cecil" plus his cubs, as when a new male takes over the role of alpha in a pride he usually kills the previous alpha's cubs).

Absolutely. And if you lived in Italy where the power of the Church is overwhelming, you'd have more reasons to think so

Hello to all my fellow christian check maters!

I wrote a book called Chess Board of the Soul, which is the strategic application of the bible in chess moves. www.chessboardofthesoul.org
