Nope, the only think you can do is use the "disable chat" link to fully close out the chat window during the game.

Add something new into the chatbox, and date-stamp it: e.g.
Mon 29th: It looks like this one will go the distance.
Is there anyway to empty the chat box in online chess? I have messages from days ago in there, because I am playing the same player, and can't figure out how to delete them or if it's even possible. Gets confusing after awhile.
