I saw a video of Carlsen beating NY hustlers. It's on a Norwegian website.
The hustlers in New York are very bad at chess compared to their reputation. I've played a bunch and none of them came close to expert strength. Magnus would sweep them blindfolded, as would most other GMs.
The actual strong players in New York are at the Marshall. But they still would get cushed obviously.
this might seem like a weird question but can carlsen beat them...
they might play some weird openings and moves that would throw magnus off guard
