Though I don't Buy McCarthyism, I do think that communism is wrong,(China, North Korea, Fidel Castro, USSR [ Back in the USSR, Don't know how... oh wait, not the right time for that Beatles song])

You say you want a Revolution?

How are France and China above Hungary in this ranking? Both GMs and IMs are below Hungary's. Same for US being the 7th.

I doubt that communism and chess prowess are linked. Chess, I believe was popular in Russia before the Revolution as well.

Communism in Russia (and the Ukraine) is linked with chess. In fact, the Soviet government funded chess training for decades. Top chess players were given an allowance and a place to live by the state.

I thought that under the dictatorship of the proletariant everyone was given an allowance and a place to live by the state.

The Chinese government also supports chess playing...not that China is really a communist country anymore. Just look at the way they've been playing the global markets for the last few decades. They're true blue capitalists over there...it's just that their only political party is called the Communist Party.

This may be somewhat unrelated but do you know if anyone has ever look at the game of chess itself from a Marxist or Capitalist perspective?

I mean the game of chess practically personifies Capitalism, making it a big target of discussion and debate for those with Marxist critiques about Capitalism.

And there I was, thinking it exemplified Feudalism!
