Complete King and Rook Checkmate
The lesson teaches the "box" technique of moving the king to the corner and giving mate. It's a way to teach beginners how to checkmate with K+R, not about making the "best" move in the position

If you have rook and king close together it is not only earlier checkmate but much easielier to do this.
My son is 8 and can checkmate with this technique very easy.

This is very important to be able to do quickly. It doesn't take huge practice but so many people run out of time and don't complete it.
in this lesson are manny mistakes. if i take king and rook close together i give mat in 16 moves in any starting positions. in this lesson you need over 30 moves.
