LOL...as a free member i have had 1 loss due to a disconnect and only had a couple of interruptions and was reconnected.
You might want to check your connection and or ISP and or software
I've never been disconnected under LC2, but then I'm a Premium Member ;)
Ultimately in life, you get what you pay for.
I used to get losses due to disconnects a lot, but since the new live chess went on line I've had a few disconnnects but got back into the game and didn't really even cost me more than a few seconds. Sorry of that sounds all kissing up or sychophantic but that has been my experience. I'm a happy camper.
I've never once been disconnected from a live game. It's not even because I'm a paying member, I've only been one for about a month and the only thing that I'm paying for is the tactics training, video lessons, and chess mentor. The site itself is faster and more responsive. I've also never once been disconnected from live chess even when I was a basic member.
Never been disconnected while using Firefox! 
I was disconnected once or twice using IE on the OLD Live Chess, but have never been disconnected with ANY browser on the current version.
I can't complete a game on this site at all anymore, and I mean not even ONE game w/o loading interruptions followed by a loss for game abandonment. Please come clean an let us non-members know that this is due to the fact that we are not actually paying for this service, I can live with that, but being that I like this site so much I would like to now become a member if it means zero game interruptions. If that is case please let me know and I will gladly join up, otherwise I will be moving on to another site all together.
I understand you want to make money, and the site is actually worth it, but now I'm afraid that this may not be the place to come if this has nothing to do with the fact that I'm not a member. If it has nothing to do with the fact that I am not a member then this will be a site not worth joining due to too having many bugs, so please fill me in one way or another. Give me your word, and I'll just pay the fees and join up. Otherwise, this is the greatest chess site i've ever seen.

After all the interupted service and syhophantic praise it has all paid off!! I was able to play two entire games before the game froze and I was charged with a loss! Have to wonder ...
