I dont know about Magnus Carlsen. But 3100 bullet-rated Maxim Dlugy lost on ICC to a 1400 rated player. In G/3

The thing about someone like Carlsen, is not simply that he is better. It's that he is so much better at his we don't know how good he actually is. He sees things we don't know exist. He sees in a different "color" than we are even aware of. Yeah, we see our rating of 1700 or 1900 or whatever, and that he's 2800, and figure he's about "that" much better than us. But I don't think anyone really knows what that means. He's an alien to regular chessplayers.
IM Danial Rench took on Full Strength Komodo in one of his videos, with Queen Odds.
And Danny won...but it wasn't "easy" and he said he can usually do it, but it wasn't a walk in the park. He had only knight and bishop at the end to mate.

I find this hard to believe. Beating Stockfish with Queen odds is fairly trivial. Yes I've tried it. I imagine Rook odds could be a totally different story however.

I mean, no, Danny was never in any trouble or anything. But there were times he could have messed up and been severely damaged if he wasn't careful. He had to try some, and he's a 2400. He was never really sweating or anything, but it wasnt' as easy as a lot of his bullet brawls against say, 1700s or something.
If he is also down a knight, I could try. Otherwise, it would be a waste of time, and I would get burned alive. 
I recently beat a guy who once beat Kortchnoi and I felt like a pro.
But Magnus, 90% of world's population would fail to beat him in a game even when not allowed to castle.
That's being very generous.
