Disabling Vacation Mode

How do I disable vacation mode??? I have a daily game I'm trying to lose on time in and every time I get to a half hour it puts me in vacation mode and l'm

given an extra four hours when I disable it. How do I prevent this?

BlueScreenRevenge

Show some class and resign. Timing out instead of resigning is just bad sportsmanship.

You can't disable vacation time and will automatically get placed on vacation when low on time until you no longer have any.

Why would you do that?

There’s actually another live thread about this same sh**** tactic. Bruh, trying to use loopholes to lose without “damaging your score” is the kind of sh** that makes all Americans look bad. It’s the sort of double-dealing, self interested, lack of sportsmanship schieze that makes ppl hate us in the US. Plz stop being a tool and resign like an effing man. This is an intl forum for kfuf’s sake

Do you lose less points if you time out?

It’s my older brother and it’s a running joke between us that whenever one of us is about to lose we time out instead of resigning and say something “oh I wouldn’t have lost if I hadn’t timed out”. It’s an unrated game and so there’s no attempt to keep points here. I just started my premium free trial which is why I now have vacation mode.

You don’t. It’s unrated anyways.

Please read my other post about it.

TLDR

1. It’s an unrated game and just a running joke between me and my older brother.

2. You don’t lose less points if you time out. It’s the exact same. I’m trying to lose no matter what so I don’t see a point in calling me a coward for trying to lose a match and lose the full amount of points.

What I’m getting from the responses in this thread is to wait until my trial is over.

Vacation mode is annoying, needless and really is a form of cheating. Let’s install vacation mode in a bullet game! So when you are down to 10 seconds you can have a month to think about it. Makes no sense - it is an unfair advantage, if you won’t do it in a half hour game why do it in a 24 hour game. It disrupts the flow of the game, the game has no rhythm. And it forces someone to wait months to make a move when that is not what they chose for their game - I chose 24 hrs per move - it should be 24 hrs per move period!

Daily chess is a form of correspondence chess. With games that can last months and events that can take years, there are times that vacation is needed.

All I ever play is blitz, so I’ve never even understood what vacation is on here. I looked into it and now I get it. I accidentally started one of those one day or two or three day games, and was really sad I had. It just seems way too vulnerable to looking stuff up in a book, or asking a friend or parent for help. I would never enjoy one of those long games. Unless I’m playing in person.

That's allowed as in Daily. Asking others for help, or accessing an engine it tablebase is not.

What if a person is really sick like I was with COVID? I could not even lift my phone, walk to my computer, much less concentrate? I timed out on all my games, because this went on for ten days.

Please excuse my ignorance but were is the vacation mode toggle?
