playing a computer sometimes isn't that bad, you discover your weakness. If you play to win, you already know you cannot win all the time. you shouldn't focus on your rating or ratio win lose

That is not what I am asking. I am asking to name some tips how you would suspect someone of cheating in correspondence chess

renacer

Set up their position before their last move in an engine, see if their move is what the engine recommended, and do this a few times. Even then, there's no proof.

After you finished your game, analyze it with engines, if your opponents moves match the engine a lot maybe you are playing against a cheater with engine or Magnus Carlsen :)

I presume  you've ruled out holding blade to their throat to get the truth out of them...?

I used to think I was playing people who were using chess engines and after years of online chess I feel maybe only one person may have been. And even then their rating was only 1300ish. With that person they moved way too fast and the moves were mind nggling, and when I looked at their stats their average game length was 12 moves. Most people have games of 30 to 40 moves. In the end I was not sure, of course, and since I had suspicions I just blocked them. I am not sure you can do that at chess.com. I would say it is possible they had just learned to use chess engines for cheating purposes and their rating had yet to skyrocket and that can be a signal too. A person plays games at a modest or low level for a long time then shoots to 2000 after a series of amazing wins. In the end if a person is only about 1300 they either are not cheating or they are cheating poorly.

Look back at your opponents score a few of their games later(like maybe 5-10 games).  If they arent already rated around 2000-2400 they most likely were not using an engine.
