playing a computer sometimes isn't that bad, you discover your weakness. If you play to win, you already know you cannot win all the time. you shouldn't focus on your rating or ratio win lose

That is not what I am asking. I am asking to name some tips how you would suspect someone of cheating in correspondence chess

Set up their position before their last move in an engine, see if their move is what the engine recommended, and do this a few times. Even then, there's no proof.

After you finished your game, analyze it with engines, if your opponents moves match the engine a lot maybe you are playing against a cheater with engine or Magnus Carlsen :)
