Hi guys. I'm trying to get my head around distant opposition. In Silmans book it says you need to count the squares between you and you opponents king and you want it to be there move with an odd number of squares between you. Isn't it easier just to say you want to step on to the same colour square as your opponent as they're odd and even by definition?
