Dudes! I have noticed that whenever I drink a bit before playing , in that game , I get to play a brilliancy . Tal and Alekhine were also famous for both their addiction to drinks , and addiction to combinations . SO DO DRINKS HELP IN CHESS?

Please share your thoughts .

I think for some people it might but, for others most likely not. Also, just like sports, I don't think you're allowed to be "high" (Drugs or alcohol) it's just cheating.

Going toilet (pee) helps me instead. Reduce body weight.Get a break.

I sometimes drink water, soda or tea when I'm playing

Yes, drinks help a lot in chess. I am used to drink before playinh chess. And I'm not talking just one glass. Take the bottle instead. And look at my awesome rating to see how it pays off..

I mean, yes, everyone should be drinking before games.

Unless you think of chess as a sport. In that case, take protein shakes instead..

i disagree In chess you need to be not drunken. No doubt about that.

The more alcohol you drink, the more confident you feel, the stronger your attacks are. It actually scares your opponents to see you playing with more confidence.

When not playing online but in real life, drinking provides you with an other benefit.

Your opponent will smell the alcohol and think he has an easy win because you are drunk. So he underestimates you. And when one underestimates his opponent, he loses.

Also, it improves your reflexes, evereybody knows that. So drinking before bulletgames is great tactics.

Btw, you tried whiskey with dark chocolate? Amazing combo!

In Tournaments if you are nervous or something like that it can help you, but not because alcohol makes you play better, actually it makes you play a little bit worst, what happen is that is better to play a little bit worst but without nerves or afraid than to play a little bit better with nerves and been afraid, I did that once, and I make a lot of points been kind of drunk, even I beat an IM, when I am normal I say no this guy is tittled and also an IM I dont have a chance, with alcohol is hit me with your best shot I can beat you easy

Well it doesn't really have much of an effect on me in blitz. I don't really play slow games much so I wouldn't know if it would affect my depth or not.
