Usually it's because they want a chance at a higher rated player, and while the points are an incentive, it's the same as you. You want higher rated, they want higher rated. As you go up, you garner respect! Good luck to you in your chess career! Just relax
Do you decline a rematch to lower ...

When I win, I usually wait for my opponent to challenge me.
Considering your rating, I'd challenge you again to prove my point that I should be better :-p

I'm not too fond of playing higher rated players. Especially in blitz, I prefer lower rated players so I can do some crazy stuff without getting punished in the openingzes.
I am relaxed... chance at higher rated player? My game is up with theirs, one mistake on my end in most cases, one that's it. I'm a worthy opponent, why not a rematch. It's not like their are cleaning the borad with me... Me still thinks its because they don't want to risk their precious points lol.
I gotta say it again ... players here do not give you a rematch even after playing a solid game with one mistake... so disappointed...
I've never rematched an opponent on here ever. There's enough people playing that I'd like the experience of playing another opponent in my limited time then to play the same person twice.
Some people just don't do rematchs, no reason to be mad about it. If they want to they will if not they won't.

Often times I only have time for one game. You have to consider, maybe it's not the person's disposition, but instead their situation. Of course I play longer chess and this may not commonly be the case for blitz games....
food for thought anyway
I rematch players all the time, higher and lower alike. Sometimes I challenge them, sometimes they challenge me. It's pretty standard.

@ Hazdos I can only speak for myself, but I prefer to play on-line chess (turn based 3 days per) sometimes when I'm playing online in a tournament and my opponent is also online, I use 10/0 games as a "in-between game" while I'm waiting for my opponent to move. Like Terahammer, I use blitz games as a way of just seeing "what if" My rating on blitz games will go as low as 1220 or as high as 1450 but it doesn't matter to me. Try playing some longer games and I'm pretty sure you'll see a change as well as make some good friends since you have longer to chat.
Hey all, first of let me step back and thank you all for your comments .
With that said of course there are people that have no time and or don't do rematches... how many/? one could only wonder. However, what I'm speaking off is more along the lines where I have a game... I loose, but not by a lot, one mistake usually does it (btw, losing does not bother me). .. I hit for rematch, and get declined... or the player has left the chat. Well I say to my self F- it ... hit for a new game and guess who the program matches me with... same player but only to get Abort from game...
OH well, I am not that bent over it just thought that perhaps I'm not going crazy and hope that people (if in fact worrying for points) would just play for the game :)
Cheers!
Hi,
I have been frustrated with few players here where their rating is a bit higher than mine but I manage to give them a heck of a game... sometime even pull a draw. I am talking 1600+ rated player (chess.com rating). Almost always they wont give me a rematch, as if they don't want to lose their point because they see that I might have a chance to win. I just hate it!
Any of you have the same experience?
