some friends was playing poker without any money involved and everybody was happy.
they decided to play poker with a few dollars suddenly some of them got angry at the smallest mistake that they usually would laugh over and the friendly environment was gone.
I think the same would happen to turned based chess and it would be even more important to monitor all games to make sure noone would try to use illegal methods to win.

instead it would be much better to have a little trophy send or the possibility to print a diploma that you have won.

Its ok to explore the thought, but Where should this money come from??? What do you think OP? If you want to win some prize money playing people at your level would your father put up the money to back you? just think, the time you spend making post, you could be playing some one or studying chess to improve! Just think about that
