Ok lets look at this deeper, what do they have in common?? Well you haveto have  the right balls for the game, other wise your control will be off, same as in chess, you need balls to take on a stronger player and keep yur cool!

In bowling you need pins, and in chess to keep score you need pens (this can't be mere coincidence).

Chess is all about pins.

Avatar of AndyClifton

And that's even less likely to be coincidental!

Chess has forks, and in bowling you need forks to eat the gooier nachos.

Chess is all about skewers too. Like bowling.

Agree, in chess you have forks, in bowling you have splits. you have to keep score in both games. And in bowling if you get three in a row, (strikes) thats a turkey, and in chess if you lose three in a row, (you suck), so some people say!?  How did I get started on this post????Undecided

I AM HAPPY WHEN I WIN CHESS + BOWLING

Well in my case these two Games are definitely related ! In Chess I am a true Woodpusher ( & Wood is used for Bowling Pins hmmm ) able to destroy a Game rather quickly. In Bowling I am gutter-ball specialist, able to hit either gutter in fine fashion at anytime which also destroys the Game  lol.

Well, for a long time Pretoria Chess club played at te Hatfield Lawn Bowling Clubhouse. No pins there....

We eventually got evicted for hooliganism.

Okay, I'm gonna go one step further:  I think chess and bowling are the same.

I had never Seen that before!  Of course!  A competitive activity that is sneered at by devotees of "Real" sports.  Something blind people Can play, but in which sighted people have an advantage! A game with rules, but no language requirements!  An activity that can make your hands sweat!  --- That involves moving small objects that are shaped vaguely like people! That can be played individually or in teams!  That calls for special shoes! ...... uh oh...... never mind.

Avatar of Leonard8209

if i play really well i can count my score on both hands!

Avatar of Leonard8209

true, but both sports can be played by people with only one hand

I have bowled 344 perfect "300" games but have not played near as many perfect chess games.
