We all recruit from the same gene pool.
Does Caruana even have a "puncher's chance"?
We all recruit from the same gene pool.
Naturally. Commence with the eradication of the Norwegian.
I think the first win will change the game alot. If Caruana wins a game first Carlsen is famous for coming back as a monster. That being said, he is also famous for overpressing and it strikes back at him. I hope for Carlsen, but for sure, we respect Caruana.
It would be exciting to have a world champion from the United States, but in the end I want the best chess player to win. I think Carlsen is better, but we'll see what happens. I hope they both play well, probably the best matchup in a long time. World #1 and #2 (not like that Anand - Gelfand crap) and Caruana isn't a boring defensive artist like Karjakin. Also they're both young.
Since Karjakin was barely in the world top 10 (and before and after was out of the top 10) this feels like the first real WCC match of the new generation. Kramnik Anand was great, there was some in between stuff, and now we have Carlsen Caruana.
Prediction: Carlsen wins by a margin of +1 and the match goes the full 12 games.
Your thoughts?
Sounds likely.
I don't imagine Caruana will let it end in a tie after 12 games because he's notably worse at speed chess. So I can imagine he'll press hard in the last half which may lead to a loss. If Carlsen wins a game early, perhaps this (not a difference in strength) will cause it to end in +2 or +3 for Carlsen.
tl;dr You got clickbaited. Leave your predictions of the match below.
It wouldn't surprise me of Caruana somehow beat Carlsen in the match. I give Caruana a 25% chance of winning.
