Does chess increase violence?
I used to be a voilent video game player. Chess has definately calmed me down by 100%. Well, that and Jesus.
My wife has said the incidents of me becoming angrier and angrier when she interrupts my chess games is becoming more frequent. She took one of my queens away the other day to spite me. :-)
What about the Rook shoved into in your opponents mouth, then make them swollow it, it will get lodged in your opponents throat causing them to suffocate. Is the best technique.
Since using this technique I've won a few more games..
Three guys are sitting in prison and talking about how they got there.
Person A: So what'd you guys do?
Person B: Well my dad was an alcoholic and beat me as a child. I used to go down to the firing range and squeeze off a few in my spare time which led me down a road of violence. I robbed a 7-11 at gunpoint.
Person C: I uh got into MMA when I was really young, and really enjoyed breaking stuff and choking people out, like my friends and family and my girlfriend. I was eventually arrested for assault and battery.
Persons B and C: Um what did you do?
Person A: Uh I um well I learned the game of chess when I was five years old from a grandmaster. Ever since I had problems controlling this deep seeded emotional turmoil and reckless hatred for mankind. One day I was playing chess at the mall chess club, and after like playing for two hours straight, I just went freaking berserk and ran over everyone there with my car!!
Persons B and C: Oh well uh dude I could have told you that. Everyone knows chess makes people lose their freaking minds and they get this urge to kill and break stuff and &@*$# like that.
Person A: When I get outta here, I'm never gonna play another game of chess again.
If anything learning anything in real form brings about control and understanding rather than violence.
Boxing gave structure to my fighting abilities, chess gave structure to my thinking abilities. Fair to say neither of them has made me violent; though when violence comes around my ordered and methodical attack is devastating.
P.s. if any of you disagree with me i'l come round your house, chop your balls off and burn your family.
i dont see how it increases violence it a game of thought and understanding not violence,if people are some how making this brilliant game some how violent then they should be shot lol
It actually reduces it because people curtail their physical urge to fight and make war when they can constructively express their anger on the chess board. Actually, chess has been known to help gang related youth that I work with daily - it teaches them that they can use their skills and tactics in turf warfare to engage in battle of the mind on the board.
Chess is amazing for that.
