I’m still a beginner player and this is my first post , so I’m just trying to see if anyone else notice this or it just happens to me.. sometimes i can be on a winning streak, and win like 7-10 games in a row.. which makes feel so good about myself, and when i even review the game , i will be impressed of how smart my moves were and how they changed the game from a complete losing position to a winning one. But on the other hand i can be on a losing streak where I could lose a similar number of games in a row as well by playing bad games, and if this happened a couple of times , probably I won’t think much of it and say it was a coincidence, but it happens way too often now, does anyone have a logical explanation on why that is, and if they have experienced something similar. My only theory that i was able to come up ( which is kinda silly lol but..) i think the Chess.com algorithm matches people who are on winning streaks with people who are on losing streak on purpose for a chance to break each other streaks or something like that lol 🤷🏻‍♂️

i've heard of this before actually (before i used the site) i think it's just a flaw with the ranking system since your rank and playing strength can be quite different

Streaks are not part of the pairing algorithms, but just a normal part of play. I have time OTB where I win a bunch of games in a row and others where I can't win at all. It's normal for players that aren't masters grin.png
