I play very little rapid chess, but in a slow OTB tournament game I can sometimes feel my heart race when I'm in a critical position, or deciding to embark on a risky sacrifice. If chess didn't make my heart race every once in a while, I probably wouldn't play it
I don't like short games I can't concentrate and I'm wrong a lot because of the pressure of time.
Stay off cocaine
My heart rate always increases during my games. It can be distracting, so I am working on staying calm, especially during Blitz games!

Yes. Cocaine is probably not a good idea. But some say that fast games can do more harm than good. Can lose the patience and discipline for slower play.

No, but it does during bullet games. My heart races all the time during speed chess games

Yep. Doesn't matter for me if it's a long or short time control, my heart always beats faster than usual when playing chess.
