i have been grinding on chess.com live for a good minute now...i dig getting my rating higher than it has ever been because it gets noted on my page along with when it happened. memories if you will.

i also notice this pattern within myself...i will get close or equal to my best ever, and just when you thought it was safe to eat fruit snacks, i play someone with a lower rating but high enuff to put me over my best...and LOSE...always...it seems the only way to get over my best is to beat someone way better than me and win like 15 or more points..

when i seek out that "easy win" to top my best...i ALWAYS end up losing like 20some points...

moral of the story...^_^

play against the better rated people if you can, as they get cocky when they see you coming (as i seem to) and make fatal mistakes.

maybe its just me? or maybe it really IS warm in here.

In this specific site most decent players will reach a barrier level that's hard to surpass. For most it's the 1500 barrier (on live chess) and the 2000 barrier ( online chess) but it depends on the player. When I hit my barrier level I had to completely re-evaluate and study alot to surpass it, but just trying again and again won't really do much, unless you haven't reached your real barrier level yet. So keep at it and good luck!

i tend to always make the challange and wait for some one to accept it. I really like it when a player that is 200+ my rating accepts the challange, because to play someone of a lower rating, they must be having an off day or something, and because im a lower rating, they will underestimate me. These 2 factors combines and compleately favours me, so I tend win about half the time. Even if I dont win, it doesnt matter to me at all.
