Probably not, but my chess setup is literally a single MacBook and anywhere I can lie down on to play on trackpad.
dream set up for chess

Best way to play and study chess is by using chess board and pieces, reading a book, playing OTB and solving puzzles on a real board. In my opicion this has always been and will always be uncomparable to any other way and form of playing/studying chess. You can do it alone at first, seek for some help from other people when you stuck and repeat. Ofcourse, many of us don't have enough resources, will power, energy and aren't surrounded with chess players all the time. Luckily we live in era of internet and computers so we can never run out of possibilites what to do. For me ideal setup when playing chess would be any screen of any size because it doesn't matter at all. I don't like sitting in a chair for long periods of time, so I would prefer any phone, tablet or laptop over PCs, that way I can lay down on my couch, relax and enjoy playing chess game. Studying is a bit different because it requires more focus and activity so I would pick a PC with atleast two monitors so I dont have to switch between tabs few times in a minute. Everything would be big and clear, easy to look at and learn from. Cup of hot tea and thats all I need.

I have a gaming rig that is 18 months old. Really powerful. It has a big ultrawide monitor for my World of Tanks and World of Warships play and another good-sized 16:9 monitor above. I know I should it down and play chess on my laptop to save electricity, but I often have some entertainment running on the top monitor.
What would be the perfect set up for an online chess player? I guess it would start with the computer? what would be the ideal specifications for the ideal chess computer? Would you go with a lap top or desk top? Would you want multiple monitors so you can easily look up positions with a database while watching a youtube video? what chess engines would you want if any. Would you want chessbase or some other program to store and view your games? What databases or websites that give access to databases would you use? Or would you even use databases and programs like chess base. Maybe you would go minimalist and play the games on your phone and use the desk space for physical chessboards and books and journals or perhaps something else. A bookshelf filled with your favorite chess books might also be a highly desirable item, although these days some might prefer ebooks.

And then you want to make sure you are comfortable when you play and study. So maybe a Titan online gaming chair? If you are a speed chess player perhaps you would want an ergonomic mouse pad and a high quality wireless mouse. Also perhaps a high end noise cancellation headphones from Bose or Sony would be desirable? Headphones may also be desirable if you take online lessons with coaches. Oh and coffee...gotta have coffee....so, a coffee maker with several gourmet coffees to choose from. Oh and maybe a minifidge to have have cold water on hand and any other cold beverages you might desire.

Am I missing anything?
