apart from coffee, what other drug would benefit a chess player? Chess gets tiring around the 5th hour, so people drink tons of red bull probably to stay sharp.

In my opinion its a waste of time, its not like a chesslite is going to take sterioids to lift a chess piece?

Blueberries are a superfood and improve memory.

Ah yes, drug testing.  From the same idiots who brought you this:

Any questions?

gosteelers

What?

AndyClifton

I know a lot of players who would be delighted to test drugs.

cabadenwurt

Well the President of the FIDE might be on drugs as he thinks the Aliens really have abducted him. Then again if that were true I'd be very mad at the Aliens because they keep on bringing the guy back. Yell

AndyClifton

I heard he grew rather fond of the anal probes.

Am not even going to mention Lance Armstrong :)

Hey Andy.

One question.

Why is ''fried-egg'' a symbol of drug-free America?

AndyClifton

I don't know.  We always took "fried" to have a somewhat different meaning.

netzach

The egg may have some kind of Zen-meaning then.

AndyClifton

Yeah, Nancy Reagan and Zen--there's a whole book for you.

netzach

Like Madonna and yoga.

A committee on drug-testing chessplayers must be formed and include:

L. Armstrong

B. Johnson

F. Griffiths Joyner [honoury inclusion only]

B. Bonds

The extensive experience of these experts will guide chess into the future and give hope and prosperity to chess for us all.

I believe there is a drug that can make you think straighter and faster/more easily, but I dont know what it's called, when I was reading about the olympics it was talking about people using drugs and how people use brain-enhancing drugs in college as well.

petersen-zac

Well you do have people that us aderhal/ridaline to help them with exams in school. It is some form a upper which allows a person to concentrate greatly ( assuming they are not taking it to actually help their ADHD or ADD ). This could be something they could test for.

plutonia

There's plenty of widely available drugs that can enhance your brain to inhuman capabilities.

And if you believe a "test" can solve everything then you're a bit naive.

Every single professional competition (especially sport, but not only) is based on performance enhancement drugs.

For those not living in the USA, the video of the frying egg was accompanied by a voiceover somberly announcing "This is your brain on drugs.  Any questions?"

Walter0508

my first thought on seeing the egg was where are the bacon and sausage ,then i read baddogno's explaination "this is your brain on drugs " how is this a deterant. any way never mind back to the question ,i cant see any reason why thier shouldnt be testing and yes the tests dont pick up everything but thats not a reason to not test
