Rating doesn't depend on games' moves. It depends on your relative strength in comparison with other players, meaning on your scoring chances against rated opponents. The reason for the win/draw/loss doesn't matter, you may lose by being outplayed, on time, because you resign in a better position because you have some other considerations, etc. If someone tells you "In this game you played 8.Nbd2 so your rating should be ~1500", don't believe him because there's no reason for such conclusions. It would be like saying that because a soccer player commited a foul in the 25th minute of a match, his team is going to finish 3rd at the league standings.
