Correction. It doesn't work in an actual game. For some reason it works on the board before a game starts, but not DURING a game. This needs to be added as a feature.
Ever lose a game when your mouse slips?
This has never happened to me, luckily. Unless I forgot. Well, there was that one time on ICC a long long time ago that I accidentally played 1. e3 instead of 1. e4. But that's it.

Its happened to me, I use a tablet instead of a mouse for its ergonomic convenience, and because I use photoshop a lot. Its a lot easier to slip with one of those so I try to use a mouse when I play live.
I used to have online chess set to touch move and I made a lot of mistakes, but luckily I found and turned off that setting.
Had my mouse act up at playchess.com it wouldnt go right. It was a 1 minute blitz game also. Good times, good times.

It happens. It's definitely frustrating, but I'm just glad that I've never had it happen to me in a tournament yet . . .

Not with my mouse, not with my work mouse, not even with borrowed mice. The infrared mice for $10-$15 are quite reliable for at least 5/0 or higher time limits. Maybe try dragging the piece to the very center of the square to avoid accidents.
It happened to me against a very high rated player not saying i would have won but it cost me a pawn and as you know that's all it takes.

I've always worried that, either in live chess or OTB play, I'd (when playing the Sicilian, for example), would move the b-pawn by accident.

I made a post just yesterday about playing b5 against a4. See it as an opportunity.

I lost because my mouse slipped... uh yeah thats it, thats the ticket... I'm going to trade my mosue in for a hamster or a rat ASAP...

You can play by clicking the desired piece then clicking the square. I got frustrated with dragging, and putting pieces on a square I did not intend to. When you do this with a queen, and you hang her out to dry, it can cause a serious pain in the stomach.

My mouse slipped and my cat ate it. Then my cat barfed. Then I had to clean it up while I was in a live chess game. Then I lost on time. So I lost a game indirectly due to a mouse slip.

Im not sure if its available in live chess or not but i have mine set so that i have to click on "Accept Move" after i make a move. So i cant blame all my errors on my mouse grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

EEEEEWWWWWW!!! Cat barf!

I have had that happen but generally only when there are other connectivity problems, slide the piece slightly too far or too short is the problem I have had mostly. It's pretty rare maybe once in 500 games. I have seen opponents have that problem, again rarely, and there is little I can do to help them out. I would have permitted them to move the piece to where I know they were trying to move it because where they put it made no sense at all.

I have a laptop, so I use a touch pad instead of a traditional mouse. Therfore, it's happened to me once. I was unhappy about it at the time, but it's no big deal-afterall, I play chess to have fun. Winning isn't everything. Though I wish Ihad that queen, grr...
It happened to me yesterday, and I just saw someone say it happened to him (her?) on chat. So I started clicking pieces.
Just in case you didn't know (Like I didn't). On the live chess page, you can click a piece, then click the destination square to make the move. Clicking and dragging is too dangerous.
