Face what we are and live with it.  Turns out Mommy wasn't pure & Daddy needed to learn how to deal with it.  He couldn't. didn't. shouldn't. Do your best OP.

Arw god. The hand-wringing majority.

Don't get me wrong marcosite, I'm not a pushover with people, and have had to be straight with many and have told a few that if they stay in the situation they're in there is a strong possibility the next time I will meet them is in the A&E resusitation room. But I still feel for them.

Speaking as an unbattered woman who can dress as she bloody well likes, I'd like to remember that we are kind of lucky to criticise.

We have many problems here, not least the cuts by the so-called Coalition, to Womens Refuges, but at least there are robust laws against domestic violence which are prosecuted vigourously. The same is true in the older EU member states, and is now law in the eastern members. Unfortunately there are many nations were no such laws exist and women live in fear.

The promotion of Womens Rights needs to be pushed more strongly world-wide. There is plenty of concrete evidence showing that the more empowered women become the more prosperous, educated and generally liberated the societies they live in are.

We have seen this with the headway made with microloans in S.E. Asia and Africa:
