Favorite Chess Piece
the queeny....it's the mightiest piece in the game cause it can pose long range threats.
but for short range attacks, i think, knights are a little more capable than queen.knigt is the only chess piece which, if used properly and efficiently, can win games from a losing position.

one of emanual laskers favourite strategy - underpromotion - promote to knight... turning point of the game.
My favourite piece when I'm playing white is my f-pawn. I just can't resist to gambit that little sucker. I must have given him for free I believe every single live game in last month. Kings gambit, Blackmar Diemer gambit, variations of Vienna game...
When I'm black it has to be my black square Bishop. If I play french, sicilian or budapest early placing of black square Bishop decides the rest of game.
Yea knights are very tricky - especially when u play 'bullet' or 'blitz' and u r short of time. That's why in 'bullet' games I tend to exchange bishops for knight as soon as I can. Bishops r predictable.
Knights do have an advantage in that sometimes people overlook their moves. All other pieces' moves are linear, but you have to watch out for that dangerous L-shape. In a couple of recent games I managed to get not one, but two rook/king forks with my knights.
I used to love the rook - for such a seemingly direct piece they can have real complexities in the endgame. Then I started playing around with knight's tours and realised just how subtle and intricate that piece could be. So, the knight, but only after eventual appreciation of its beauty.

What is your favorite piece and why? My favorite piece is the knight because it has the best forking ability per capita
