I just got 1900 in blitz I partied for a second, then I realized 1900 is horrible and I need to get 2000.

Congrats.  Good luck on the hunt for 2000.  Judging by your bullet rating, you have the potential.  Good luck.

1900 blitz here is not terrible. I've seen NM's here rated 1900-2000. Even seen a couple 1800's too. I'm starting to wonder if I'm capable of getting that high. I'd like to just to play a master once in a while but the 3/0 pool here is brutal. 1700 is about my max at the moment.

Congratulations, this is just amazing! Chessguy, how many games or hours do you play everyday to get that strong? I am not sure, but I have the impression that a lot of blitz players are addicted to the game. I remember once a guy here asking for help because he spent too much time playing. I read a book from a strong GM who asked chess.com to block is account, as he was feeling addicted to blitz and this was preventing him to study chess.

I am really bad in blitz, and I spent some days playing a lot. I felt clearly that I was getting addicted, not able to stop even to eat. After one week or two I stopped, and since them I am rather careful with blitz. :-(

After playing here so far this month, I have much more respect for the blitz players on this site. The pool of players here is obviously very diverse because it's so large but I don't really see much better play except on the server Chessbase offers and often bundles with it's software packages. There are a *lot* of good slow/classical chess players over there. Still, the player pool here is quite comparable. Every other site is far softer than that at this point.

1900 blitz here is really fast and strong. Still, look at his ~1500 rapid rating. The 15/10 and 30/0 players here are really, really good.

Thats just because I dont play much rapid, I manage a league that is a copy of pro chess league but for everyone. we play a rapid game every week and in all the seasons I have played I am around 30/34 maybe..... and im 1702 uscf and rising.

It depends on the day, but dont get addicted, im pretty sure im not, and for sure it is not making me move fast, since I take my time otb...... to much time.....

This is great. Important is how you feel about this. Probably the best thing is to give a time limit and respect it. I remember that when I played a lot it was not rare that I went to sleep at 2 or 3 o'clock, As,I always wanted to play one more game if I lost and one more game if I won.

I saw that you only played 1537 live blitz games, that is not that much more than what I played, and in the time I was playing a lot I even didn't get 1500, 400 less than you!

one of the games that show why I am not 2000

I am investing something in my game, but I don't have a specific goal, I am just curious to see how far I can get playing daily chess, perhaps 30 to 60, and afterwards analyse them as good as I can.

Chessguy, you could probably exchange the queens on move 43, or not? You was winning, I think. Did you sacrifice or just blunder the pawn on c7?
SmarterChess

You'll be at 2000 blitz soon!

Let's us know when you reach 2000. Probably you will immediately think "boy, this is not good, 2500 would be great". Of course.
