I went to this event today in Montclaire, NJ. I played 2 full games, and one partial game with an expert. Here's the first completed match.

Here's some photos from the event. One photo is of me playing with the master candidate. We had to abort our game so that he could begin his blindfold exhibition games. At the time we aborted, I was actually up a pawn with the initiative, but he had quite a bit of pressure on my queen side. Another photo is of two kids who were playing the master candidate. Both actually put up a good fight. The third picture shows the other master staffer playing.:
Please message me if you hold any more events in Montclair! I would like to attend (I live in South Jersey but my daughter & her mother live in nearby Nutley).
I may come up to your West Orange event.

I can't take credit for the event. Those events are sponsored by Chess for Life. Many of the staff member are members of a chess club in West Orange, which has a LOT of strong players. I'm not a member, but I happened to see a flyer for these events as my wife and I were walking in Panera's.
I, like you, love to play chess on the internet. But there's nothing like OTB. My ego was swollen when my master candidate opponent looked at the position at the end of our abbreviated match and said, "Whoa! You're good." Since then, I've been grinnin'.
