I know the quality of my chess is getting poorer! Maybe it's just that Tonydal, Goldendog, and Reb haven't been posting lately? Where are they?!
Forum's quality dropping

I haven't been posting as much lately because I'm getting tired of looking at a certain individual's incessant, meaningless thread start-ups.

I have no ideas, I have wonder the same thing, maybe both Reb and tonydal want to be paid for thiers contributions :-)

Goldendog should probably be paid, too. He's the funniest guy around here!

Is the quality of the forums getting poorly lately or do you think is ok so far ?
when I was here last, it was all about "Matrix chess works" or "1.d4 d5 2.c4??, more like 1.d4 d5 2.Nc3!" type garbage. plus "bishops or knights?" and "Fisher of Kasparov" so I cant image any lower... but there are some cool people mixed in.

In the States it's summertime, kco. Last summer was a bit slow. Come late fall and winter people will be indoors, and on the computer more
what about the peoples on the other side of the planet, are you saying we are that boring ?

you mention that word again I'll strangle you ! lol. no, that is excatly what i mean, do you think the staff should do something about this (forums)..well the articles seem to be pretty good so far.

I think there's some good stuff out there. I just thjink that right next to the "track this topic" box, we need an "ignore this topic" box too, so that the annoying things don't keep popping to the top of the list.

Wait... I thought the forums were here just to make fun of people talking about how they never resign?

Oh, here's an idea. I'm copying this fro "stumbleupon". What if there were a "thumbs up" and "thumbs down" option that you could click after you've visited a thread. Then, there could be either or both a running tabulation of percentage of people who like and disliked the thread with the option of having threads be sorted by how high their approval/thumbs up percentage is. Oh, I like this idea.
Erik??

that could easily be abuse

Anything can be abused, but I believe that the percentage of malicious morons is pretty low. You don't see stumbleupon getting strange upended lists because of abuse.
It seems to me that the only way to really abuse this would be to go back and vote with some personal agenda many, many times. There are simple ways of dealing with that kind of problem, such as limiting how often a person could vote.

and I got a enemy here (you know who) he could always just go and get his friends to give me the thumb down.

So, what will happen? The posts will have a little symbol next to them?
Hmmm, I'd rather decide for myself, not depend on other people's evaluation.
For example, I'm sure posts like Hurt Heal e4 openings will get lots of thumbs up, but I would rather never see that in my list anymore, (even though I made the mistake of replying on page 1, so now it even shows on my Topics I have posted in) *sighs*
