Fritz 16 (normal) vs Fritz 16 steam edition

I had been using Fritz 14, but I was often frustrated by a kind of issue, which I believe is a bug. So I purchased Hiarcs recently. It works, but I feel it lacks some function I want. For example, when Hiarcs analyzes a game, there is no setting about threshold which is available in Fritz.

So now I am considering purchasing Fritz 16. Its steam edition is much cheaper, but it seems this steam edition lacks some functions which normal Fritz 16 has. According to a review, it seems this steam edition lacks "online function" or so. But I don't know what we can do by this "online function". Could you please tell me briefly what kind of function it is?
