Game analysis tips

Hi everyone,

I am really focusing on improving my game lately and I finally pulled my finger out and started analysing my games. I needed a benchmark for improvement though so my idea is to play against the engine here (IMPOSSIBLE - 2300) for 3 | 2 and then analyzing the games using an engine later and seeing what I missed.

Are there any tips for game analysis in general that I should be looking out for when I try to improve my game? I am just using a simple engine here that gives a few sample lines, I have already seen that I have already blown a few easy victories without even realizing it...!

Cheers

Get the Stockfish chess engine because it has great strength and is free and will help a great deal in analysis of your games. I think it is at:  Stockfishchess.org/

It's stronger than you are.

Just thinking.....

Your benchmark could be your rating on chess.com         Is it going up, down or sidewise.  Learning lots about chess is one thing, but being able to apply in your games can be a different matter!
