Garry vs. Naka deathmatch?

Kasparov will never play Carlsen again. Kasparov has established himself as a champion at chess and one of the greatest players of all time. He would hate to risk that reputation. He's been away from tournament competition for too long, he only narrowly defeated Nigel Short recently. Nobody knows who Kasparov would beat now. It would be too emotional for him. People don't realize the emotion in this sort of thing for the players. When he was playing Fischer was supposed to be the most cool, rational, with nerves of steel player ever and look at the car crash his life turned into.

And what would it achieve if he beat Carlsen? That he "still has it"? Then a few years later people would be saying: "sure, but can he do it again?". He achieved everything he wanted to in chess, and got out before he started to go downhill.
