Stick with e4. Games are more tactical, which is where beginners need to start. Spend more time learning the endgame. Once your tactical ability has grown, then start experimenting with opening theory. Dont over analyze opening lines. Unless you can spot and defend against tactics(some of which may not be obvious), all the opening knowledge in the world wont help you. After you have played enough games, you will begin to get a feel for what you should or should not do when in the opening phase of the game. Hope this helps.
