Called the Scholars mate
For us "Newbies",Some of you "Veterans" are VERY presumptuous!
I do not mind admitting that I did'nt know about the four (or five) move. A.K.A. "The Scholars Move". I,for one.... appreciate the more experienced players sharing information/knowledge with me.
That, time and more games played will also help me become a more competitive player,which in turn will make for a better chess games against others.
I personally don't have much chess knowledge yet,but certainly won't hesitate to share ALL I know as I improve.That is what makes this game fun and enjoyable ! Making friends and sharing chess knowledge.It should always be about more than just Wins and Losses !

Seriously, there have been about 30 threads on this, and the 4 move almost always loses in a game situation. It's not really worth learning, and everybody knows it already.

Hehe, actually I won with, a slight variation of, it in a tournament game when I was 10 (think it was 7 moves).. my opponent started crying LOL!.. But I played 1.e4 not 1.e3 .. 1.e3 is just silly..
If you've just discovered this, Scholars Mate, then you might want to check out Fools Mate. Checkmate in 2 moves, only black can do this. I thought for years that Scholars mate was the quickest way to checkmate. WRONG!!

Coz I'm still annoyed that it took so long for me to learn about fools mate. We're talking years here. Nobody told me!

Anytime a queen comes early (first oh, about 8 moves) and goes to the a or h file, look for a trap like the fools mate.
Experienced players love this (I know, I have been on the wrong end) -- bring your queen out too early it gets kicked around and the whole time your opponent is developing quite nicely.
In the movie "Searching for Bobby Fischer" if you ate a piece of cake every time someone says "queen out too early" you would gain 100 pounds.

Scholar's is the quickest that doesn't require direct assistance from your victim.
