I like to think it’s some lunar energy causing my general downward spiral towards chess ungreatness but I’d just be lying to myself. In all honesty, I’m just crap.
1) Stop playing blitz for now. Nothing faster than rapid.
2) Slow down when doing the tactics. Don't guess. Try to really understand it.
3) Follow opening principles - cue up IMBacon - he posts this stuff all the time.
4) At your level, try not to leave pieces undefended.
5) ALWAYS check your opponents possible captures and checks.
