more than likely you're still in v2. V3 is an overhaul of the layout on chess.com. If you go to the bottom of this page and hit "Try the new Chess.com!" you can preview the beta of v3.

Thank you to all of you who have posted helpful responses and suggestions.

I'm pleased to say that Jaclyn from Chess.com staff re-opened the game 4-hours ago and emailed me to say she had done so.

I was then able to make the move and complete the game.

Once again, an update followed by problems with the servers.

https://www.chess.com/game/live/5573608664 is the second game I've had in the last week, where I've sat, watching the other player's clock tick down, then a message pops up stating, 'other player won, due to you abandoning the game' which is nonsense.

Sounds like a connection issue, which may have nothing to do with the server. The server just didn't hear from you.

It only occurs when using the Beta version of Live Chess.

That might be coincidence. I assume your random sample is not large.

Well are you using the website or one of the apps? If you are using the website, the bug report tool in Help will take a picture of your screen and let you make comments explaining the problem.

If using one of the apps, you can take a screenshot and attach it to an email to support@chess.com. There is a "Report Problem" link in the Android app settings. In ios, there is a Contact Us link in Help, if I recall correctly.

You could also post the puzzle here to let us double-check your finding.
