Getting tired of chess?

Chances are you'll have ups and downs. Sometimes you're really up for a few moves and sometimes you're not.

I'm at chess burnout stage right now, but the next round of tourneys keep coming up. Fortunately a few of them are 5 days per move, so I can still take a couple of day's break from chess and come back to it a bit fresher.

Don't enter too many tournaments at once - it'll come back to bite you!

Thanks. Luckily, I think I'm currently in one of the better stages, but things can change quickly for me. Last night, it actually---gasp---wasn't my move in any games! Cool

Sorry, I'm just happy about that. I'm currently working on reducing my average time per move.

Some useful controls to consider.

EternalChess

Some people are taking a break from chess,

others quit, others forgot, others are too busy, others forgot to put vacation on, others vacation days ran out so they are in trouble.

I on the other hand is trying to make my games go down to 1-5 so i can study chess instead of playing it and i almost timed out for not making a move in a complicated game..

But other then that those are the only reasons i can come up with

funkeymoves

Moving on games could be a real chore!  We are all master movers!  That is, we all move when we feel like moving!  Have fun, and all the best in chess!  Smile

Thank you!

Can't remember what I said that was deleted... I had to quit for 4 months because of constantly seeing a chessboard floating in front of my left eye- really. (Anybody else suffer this?) I tried to go back and ask forgiveness of those whose games I abandoned a while back (as pushwood), but I'm sure they were happy with the points

Good point, I think the same goes for me.

I'm also experiencing such a thing. Chess is slowly becoming more of a chore than a fun passtime activity.

That's coz your getting good at it. Tongue out  Kasparov wasn't kidding when he described it as mental torture.
