Wikipedia isn't so bad really e.g.:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_and_pawn_versus_king_endgame
It'll also be helpful if you could name some tools I could use to practice endgames. e.g. I have read part of Silman's, but I had no occasion to practice what I read so I promptly forgot what I read.
Study the games from the Candidates matches going on this week. You will learn such basics as how to play with pieces against pawns, Opposite colored B endgames, same colored B endgames, Rook endings, R +f+h pawn is a draw vs a lone rook if you have an active king, and so much more.
Ok, you're actually asking some great questions about basic endgames. There are many really good resources available. One of the best free videos available is Roman's Endgame lab. Type that into your youtube search and you'll be able to receive some fantastic free video lessons!
But what you get out of those lessons will depend entirely on how much you're willing to put into them.

chessmentor has those but you need to become premium member for it
learning basic flanking options will go a long way if you have a decent understanding of chess tactics in general. But yeah Silman's endgame book is pretty good.
Wikipedia has many chess entries inc endgames, some are great and some are so-so, as Scottrf said it's a good place to start. WIM energia has written lots of endgame articles you can look up right here under Learn - Articles (top of the page) The first link below is to many endgame articles by GM Karsten Muller who is definitely worth studying

I was execellent at End Games till i came to Chess.com where they like to take your head off in the opening or chop your legs of in the Middle Game. In which case if they got you it is too late in the End Game.
I had to double my knowledge of the opening. I had no traps in my openings when i came here and knew none in the opening either.
Those K and R vs K and R End Games that gundamv mentions does not happen much here. I still know how to play them but it is not as fresh in my mind.
If anybody has and any basic End Games to show it would be nice to see them.
Capablanca, baby. Best Chess endings- 60 Complete games.
Comprehensive Chess Endings vol 1-5. Averbakh.
Grab them at 4shared.
I suck at endgames, but I recently played what might be the best Rook-and-Pawn ending of my life:

No kidding. There's so much in these games, there's just too much to digest. You could set aside months to go over just a few of these games.
If nobody has suggested it yet, (Sorry, I haven't tead every post) why not the Study Plan right here on Chess.com?

Hosted by GM Danny Rensch. Check it out! It's free.
On chesstempo you can train on endgames. Also on your pc program lucaschess there is endgame training. And silman's book has exercises after each chapter.

One of my goals right now is to learn chess endgames. I am particularly interested in
K + P v. K
K + R + P v. K + R
K + R v. K + R
K + P + minor piece v. K
What are some resources (book, ebook, video, etc.) that you would recommend that I use for learning chess endgames?
